Surviving WTC Evidence
Eyewitness Reports, Photos, and Other Evidence of the WTC Attack
Diverse forms of evidence from the attack on New York City survive thanks primarily to the efforts of individuals not acting in any official capacity. Some valuable evidence was collected by news outlets, including some of the Twin Towers collapse videos. Unfortunately none of the video evidence in the public domain is of very good quality.
The World Wide Web has been a vital resource in facilitating the sharing and collection of the surviving evidence. The evidence collected here is organized onto the following categories:
- Photographs of WTC on September 11, and Ground Zero afterward
- Videos of the attack
- Seismic records from the Palisades station
- Evidence of persistent underground fires at Ground Zero
- Limited metallurgical examination of the structural steel
- Analysis of samples of dust that settled around Ground Zero
- Eyewitness accounts of events on September 11
- Firefighter reports documented by a previously secret audiotape
- The apparent admission by Building 7's landlord that the FDNY demolished Building 7
